Electric Foamie Pylon Racing

Organised by AEFA and GMAC

17th August 2008

It doesn’t take a genius to recognise that Electric All Foam models are very popular at DAC. Elsewhere, other ‘Foamie’ designs also take to the air in large numbers. The Australian Electric Flight Association (AEFA), now under the leadership of renowned electric model flyer Peter Pine are moving to cater for this popular class of model by formulating rules to allow a smooth playing field for everyone.

A part of this process is to hold meetings and to evaluate what the pilots really want. To this end, two meetings are planned in Victoria before year-end. The first of these is scheduled for the Greensborough MAC at their Yarrambat field on August 17th 10:00 am. This is very much a trial event with assistance to first timers in pylon racing and it is expected to have some genuine pylon racers in the air as well. The second meeting is expected to be at the Victorian State field

It is envisaged that there will be four classes at GMAC:

Foamie 4 minute with Lipo packs up to 3600 cell Ma-h example 2S1800 or 3S 1200

Foamie 4 minute with Lipo packs up to 6600 cell Ma-h example 3S 2100

‘S400’    3 minute with Lipo packs up to 3600 cell Ma-h example 2S1800 or 3S 1200

‘Open’   3 minute with Lipo packs up to 10000 cell Ma-h example 3S 3300 or 4S 2400
